Slideshare is a fantastic website that allows the user to upload and share PowerPoint & Keynote presentations and documents. Users can include speaker’s notes, live hyperlinks, and even relevant YouTube videos to play within the presentation. Slideshare automatically will create a presentation transcript for each upload.
Users can also set privileges for downloading presentations and even schedule live zipcasts. There is great potential for this tool for teachers to use to house class materials, presentations, webinars, etc…).

Numsum allows users to collaborate through web-based spreadsheets by tracking records, lists and data online. Spread sheets can be saved public, private and/or shared with specific users. A maximum of 2 private spreadsheets can be shared at a time. Classroom use is cross-curricular. Share checklists, budget analysis, charts & graphs, rosters, schedules, etc amongst each other. Public spreadsheets are searchable by tags and can be copied for personal use.

Slidestaxx is a slide show program, like Animoto, that allows for the upload of pictures, movies, bookmarks, or information, then creates a slide show. It requires that photos be smaller than 1 mb. It is designed to embed easily into web pages, shared via Facebook, etc. Some classroom applications include presentations and video logs. The site states:

Photobucket is the premier destination for uploading, downloading, sharing, linking and finding photos, videos and graphics. Host all your images and videos for free, then share them by email or on social sites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Your free Photobucket account can store thousands of photos and hours of video.
As a picture and video repository, Photobucket would serve teachers well for class projects in all content areas. An obvious application would be for teachers to store content-related photos or videos that can be shared with students as needed. Storing them on this site eliminates the problems associated with large file sizes.

Khan Academy allows users to watch and learn through videos in categories such as Math, Science, Humanities, and Test Preparations. The student can also work on practice questions and earn badges through the amount of points he/she has accumulated. Some classroom applications include workstations, whole group, research, and tutorials, among others.
